Massachusetts - Essex County - Historic Districts
Essex County Massachusetts (Historic Districts) has 50 places on the National Register of Historic Places including 8 places of National significance and 12 places of Statewide significance. Significant places include Chestnut Street District, Chestnut Street District (Boundary Increase), Derby Waterfront District, Downtown Lawrence Historic District and East End Historic District.

Many famous people are associated with these Essex County historic places including Retire Beckett, Winslow Homer, Mary Baker Eddy, Abigail K. Foster, Asa Perley and Andrew Robinson.

Some of the country's most noteable architects helped create the Essex County places including Joseph Everett Chandler, Samuel McIntire, Mutiple, Lockwood-Green Company, Charles Eliot, unknown, Jacob Chickering, Cram and Ferguson, Charles J.
