Significant places include Camp Butler National Cemetery, Clayville Tavern, Dana, Susan Lawrence, House, Lewis, John L., House and Lincoln Home National Historic Site.

Many famous people are associated with these Sangamon County historic places including Abraham Lincoln, Vachel Lindsay, John L. Lewis, Elijah Iles, Elijah Enos and Cong. James M. Graham.
