Bayfield County Wisconsin has 25 places on the National Register of Historic Places including 10 places of Statewide significance. Significant places include Apostle Islands Lighthouses, Bayfield County Courthouse, Bayfield Fish Hatchery, Bayfield Historic District and Forest Lodge dating back to 2999 BC.

Several famous people are associated with these Bayfield County historic places including Mary Livingston Griggs, Samuel Fifield and William C. Gray.

Some of the country's most noteable architects helped create the Bayfield County places including Henry Wildhagen, Magnus Jemne, John Nader, Wheeler,F.W.,and Co., H.P. Padley, U.S. Lighthouse Service, Off&Joralemann, Miller Bros. of Chicago, John Halioram and Edwin H. Lundie.
