Significant places include Going-to-the-Sun Road, Great Northern Railway Buildings, Apgar Fire Lookout, Belly River Ranger Station Historic District and Belton Chalets.

Many famous people are associated with these Flathead County historic places including Charles Edward Conrad, Brinkman, Fred, et al., Charlie Russell, William H. Lawrence, George McVey Fisher and William Adair.
