Significant places include Cranbrook, Detroit Zoological Park, Reuther, Walter P. and May Wolf, House, Scripps, William Edmund and Nina A. Downey, Estate and Eastern Michigan Asylum Historic District.

Many famous people are associated with these Oakland County historic places including Walter Phillip Reuther, Carl Milles, William Edmund Scripps, Joseph Sumner Rogers, Samuel Slade and Arthur Power.
