Wayne County Michigan (Historic Districts) has 50 places on the National Register of Historic Places including 6 places of National significance and 11 places of Statewide significance. Significant places include Dry Dock Engine Works--Detroit Dry Dock Company Complex, Fair Lane, Ford River Rouge Complex, Fort Wayne and Greenfield Village and Henry Ford Museum.

Many famous people are associated with these Wayne County historic places including Henry Ford, Frank E. Kirby, James McMillan, Philip Breitmeyer and Lewis Cass.
