New York County New York (Historic Districts) has 50 places on the National Register of Historic Places including 11 places of National significance and 4 places of Statewide significance. Significant places include Central Park, Chinatown and Little Italy Historic District, Fort Tryon Park and the Cloisters, Governors Island and Greenwich Village Historic District.

The famous person Archer M. Huntington is associated with one of more of the New York County historic places.

Some of the country's most noteable architects helped create the New York County places including Frederic Auguste Bartholdi, US Army, Calvert Vaux, Thomas Hastings, Frederick Law Olmsted Jr., Pierre LeBrun, Henry J. Hardenbergh, Joseph Mangin, Mead & White McKim and Charles P.H. Gilbert. Prominent architectural styles found in New York Country are Greek Revival, Italianate and Beaux Arts.
